Hot Air Balloon (2013)

In the broadest sense, my work considers our visceral reactions to aesthetics and materials. In the day to day, however, I play. I play with connections, language, facial expressions, and textures. I examine everyday phenomena and unspoken social agreements. I get giddy over raw materials that I can melt, mold, build up, and whittle down. As an interdisciplinary artist, I combine facets of physics and philosophy with the wealth of creative disciplines available to the contemporary artist to question, explore, and illuminate.
